People Who Help Us - February 2019

'People Who Help Us'

Following on from our half-term holiday the children enjoyed exploring the new role play area and the costumes. During our exploration, the children took on the role of different occupations and put on and took off the different costumes. During our initial disucssions the children spoke about their favourite 'person who helps them'. 

We have been talking about the role of policemen/ladies, firefighters, vets and nurses. During our quiet time we have been watching different video clips about Peppa Pig and the adventures she gets up to with 'People Who Help Us'.

We have been exploring the peppa pig colouring game on the smartboard. The chidlren have been using the interactive board to colour different pictures and then print them off. 

In our role play area this week we have developed a supermarket. The chidlren have been taking on the role of the shop keeper and the customer. It has been lovely to observe the children taking turns using the till and filling/emptying their shopping basket.

Today, during learning time we explored the beebot and navigated him around the town. The children enjoyed programming the robot and getting him to move. 

As part of our PSED (Personal Social and Emotional Development) we developed an area for the children to create role play using themselves. This area of the classroom has been incredibly popular - they loved finding their 'Mini Me'.
