Our trip to see the Queen!

Today, the Queen and Megan Duchess of Sussex came to Widnes officially open the Mersey Gateway Bridge. There are 60 schools in Halton, and St Gerard's was one of only ten schools to be invited. We had to be in school super early to get on the bus at 8:30. We waited for two hours in very windy weather and eventually we saw the Queen's cars coming over the bridge. When she arrived, the Queen was wearing a bright, lime green dress with a matching green hat. She looked wonderful! Megan had a cream dress on and she looked wonderful too. She didn't have a hat on. They got up onto the big stage and watched a fantastic dance performance. The Queen loved it and was dancing along with them! Then she officially opened the bridge and they got back into their cars. What an exciting day it was!
