Rosie's Walk - March 2020
Date: 9th Mar 2020 @ 8:18pm
'Rosie's Walk'
This week, as always, we started off with story time. During story time we listened to the story 'Rosie's Walk'. Following on from carpet time discussion we explored the farm small world area and developed our positional language by challenging each other to place Rosie in different positions on the farm.
In the creative area we used different materials to create our own chicks. The children used the story book to gather inspiration on what their chick may look like.
During outdoor play we wanted to become Rosie and walk around our own obstacle course. Following instructions, we moved in different ways just like her.
We made a 'Farm Animal' BeeBot mat for the children to explore and apply their new positional language in a meaningful context. Look at their fantastic programming.
In preperation for our eggs to arrive we worked together to make a 'Chick Observation' station. We are so excited to see what happens over the coming weeks.
After setting up our station we held a circle time to find out different names that they would like to call our new friends. I wonder what we will end up calling them?
