Mission Statement

"Guided by God St Gerard's Catholic Primary and Nursery School is

an inspiring and aspirational community, where we learn to love, hope dream and achieve."

On behalf of everybody at St Gerard's I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome. I hope you find this website useful especially if you are a visitor or a new parent to tell you all about life at our school. We hope that your children will be happy at St Gerard's and that they develop academically, socially, spiritually and morally as well as enjoying and learning from the wonderful experiences and opportunities that we provide for them.

Our school is a place of learning within a loving and Christian community. We achieve this through our mission statement: "Guided by God, St Gerard's is an inspiring and aspirational community where we learn to love, hope, dream and achieve. All staff, children, governors and  parents contribute to school life and share in its growth and well being.

This website contains lots of information about us; our policies, our vision, and the life of our school. If there is anything else you would like to know please contact us.

Mr K Landrum

We provide a free breakfast club from 7.40am each day. We also provide an after school club each day at £2 per session. You must complete a registration form from the school office for these clubs.

All documentation is in PDF format and is

downloadable, however, if you require paper copies,

please contact the School Office.

The NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. programme is visiting our school to make sure our pupils have the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse.

I’m pleased to tell you that we will be working with the NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity, who’ll be delivering their Speak out. Stay safe. programme on 19th September. This is a nationwide programme for every primary-school-aged child in the UK and Channel Islands. With the help of their friendly mascot Buddy, they’ll be presenting an assembly to the children in our school as well as a workshop for Years 5 and 6.

Talking about the Underwear Rule with your children

The NSPCC’s work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe – and they have a number of child-friendly materials to help you carry on the conversation afterwards. That includes ‘The Underwear Rule’, a simple way for parents to help keep children safe from sexual abuse – without using scary words or even mentioning sex.

The guide uses the rules of PANTS to teach children that their body belongs to them and them alone.

If you’d like to know more about the NSPCC’s work, or take a look at the wide range of information and advice which is available for parents and carers, please visit their website nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/
