Welcome to St Gerard's Catholic Primary & Nursery School

COVID 19 Visitors Guidelines

St Gerard’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School is asking for the support and understanding of our visitors in helping us minimise the risk of COVID-19.

St Gerard’s continues to take guidance from Public Health England and the Local Authority. Taking this into account, we are now limiting access to the site to essential visitors only. If you are unsure as to whether your proposed visit is considered essential, please email the School

If your visit to St Gerard’s is an essential one, we would nevertheless ask that you refrain from visiting if:

  • You have travelled from or transited through any of the countries or areas that are currently on ‘lockdown’ in the past 14 days.
  • You have developed a fever (above 37.8C), a loss of taste or smell, or a new, continuous cough within the last seven days.
  • Anyone in your household is required to self-isolate in accordance with Government guidelines.

Along with all members of the St Gerard’s community, any visitors to the School should wash their hands with soap and water before leaving home and once they arrive at School. Gel hand sanitiser will also be available on arrival and throughout your visit.

We also ask that you complete a visiting to school site form which will be handed to you upon arrival.

For the avoidance of potential embarrassment, we would also like to advise you that the School is currently operating a ‘no handshake’ policy for all members of its community. We apologise for not being able to give you our usual warm welcome, but we must take the current situation very seriously and look after the welfare of our pupils and staff. If you have any questions, please contact the member of staff you were due to visit.

Please click on our 'Corona virus Information for parents and carers tab on our main page for details relating to September 2020 including our Risk Assessment and Remote Learning Contingency Plan.

“Guided by God, St Gerard's Catholic Primary and Nursery School is an inspiring and aspirational community where we learn to love, hope, dream and achieve.”

Firstly, may we warmly welcome you to our wonderful school. When you visit St Gerard's you will see and feel our catholic school ethos and our passion for teaching and learning. Here we ensure that the curriculum is vast, exciting and inspires all learners whilst being underpinned by our core vales. Time is taken for all the children to be valued and nurtured academically and spiritually. We have strong links with our faith and enjoy a shared partnership with the  surrounding community.

As the Headteacher I strive for children and staff to aim high and believe in themselves, ensuring that they leave unlock all of their gifts.

Feel free to contact the school office on: 0151 424 2879 to make an appointment.
