Hello Spring!

Date: 11th Mar 2018 @ 4:31pm

‘Spring has Sprung!’

This week we are going to be exploring Spring and talking about changes in the environment. We are going to be talking about the changes to animals, plants and seeds and life on a farm. We will be using 'Old McDonald Had a Farm' as a start to our mini-topic. We will be counting baby animals, painting pictures of daffodils and reading the Easter Story. During our outdoor play we will be planting seeds and talking about the importance of water and sunlight whilst trying to grow plants.

The children have been using tweezers to pick daisies from the garden. The children had to try and beat their partner by putting more flowers into their basket.

Following on from our carpet time activity the children have been creative and made their own chicks using the playdough. Lots of amazing vocabulary and discussion about farm animals.

On Thursday afternoon we explored our outdoor area for signs of spring. The children used the magnifying glasses to look for signs of growth.

On Friday we enjoyed decorating cakes. The children had to concentrate whilst using the icing to ensure it didn’t fall off.
