Class 6 2017 - 2018

Mr McCabe

"Knowledge is power: arm yourself" JS, 2014

Welcome to Class 6!

Our topic, for this term, is 'Survival' which is the central theme to all subjects covered in class. Year 6 children have the opportunity to learn all about Ernest Shackleton's epic voyage across the vast Antarctic which will engage them with captivating literature, inspire them to produce some excellent writing and improve their geographical and historical knowledge.

Currently, all children are writing their own Head Boy and Head Girl speeches which they will be delivering to their cohort. Those selected for these roles will have the opportunity to represent St Gerard's and be the voice of the pupils! Children will also be selected for other important roles, within the school, including: School Councillor, Road Safety Officer, Eco Warrior etc.

Important Information:

  • PE is every Tuesday afternoon so please ensure your child has their full PE kit with them.
  • Homework will be given to your child, every Friday, which usually includes: maths, spellings and sentence structure practice.
  • For this half term, Year 6 children will be going swimming every Friday afternoon so please ensure your child has their swimming kit on this day.
